Lipton, a million-dollar sales performer for 10 years, tells GlobeSt.com he made the move to further his professional career with a larger metro area brokerage firm. "I enjoyed seven years at Ackerman and have nothing but good things to say about the people or the company," Lipton says. "I left for the opportunity to be with a bigger brokerage group and a well-respected organization that has a larger and well recognized national platform."

Keene Miller, president of Ackerman's brokerage division, tells GlobeSt.com Lipton was "a great asset…and a great guy whom I have known for many years." Miller says a replacement hasn't been found yet for Lipton's position but "we are talking to many people in the real estate community." He adds, "change is inevitable in the real estate business" and Lipton "couldn't have picked a better company to go with than Colliers Cauble."

Lipton was Ackerman's top-producing broker in 2001 and 2003. The Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors recognized his performance by awarding him its Phoenix Award. The award recognizes 10 consecutive years of Million-Dollar-Club membership.

Lipton's big deals in the 2004-2005 period included representing WebMD in a 101,000-sf lease at 111 Eighth Ave. in New York City and a 65,000-sf lease in Tampa, FL for Emdeon, formerly WebMD Practice Services. He says he has participated in "well over" $500 million worth of closed deals in the last six years.

Bob Mathews, president of Colliers Cauble, says Lipton will continue to focus on representing Fortune 500 companies, professional firms and emerging growth organizations at Colliers Cauble. Lipton is a magna cum laude graduate in history from Medford, MA-based Tufts University.
