FORT WORTH-Drawing a close on 12 years with the firm, the investor relations director for Crescent Real Estate Equities Co. tomorrow will begin a new career as an entrepreneur.
Keira B. Moody, the REIT's investor relations director since 2000, plans to open a European Coffehouse in the Village, an upscale shopping center at 6323 Camp Bowie Blvd. Crescent execs, in the meantime, are interviewing candidates, hoping to backfill the job in the coming month.
"I wanted to take a passion and actually make it a business opportunity," says Moody, who started with Crescent as a CPA when it launched its IPO. After extensive research and schooling as a barista in Portland, OR, Moody tells GlobeSt.com that she's ready to begin the transition from executive to business owner. "My experience at Crescent has set me up for success and an entrepreneurial role," she adds.
Moody has inked a five-year lease for a 1,665-sf retail space facing the high-traffic Camp Bowie Boulevard. The European Coffeehouse is being designed to seat 20 outside and 40 inside in Tuscan villa-style surroundings. Coffees will be imported from Italy and teas from Paris. If all goes as planned, doors will open in March on her first location.
