Established in 1862, St. Agnes has made its home at 900 Caton Ave. since 1876, with its youngest building having been developed 40 years ago. The first phase of calls for the renovation and expansion of the emergency department, women's center, maternity center and cancer center, as well as the addition of a café. This phase will involve 5,000 sf and will cost $14 million. Phase II will cost $7.2 million and will yield a new parking facility to accommodate 500 vehicles; while the third phase will encompass the construction of a patient tower, medical office structure and an additional parking facility.
"We've experienced great growth in our out-patient surgery, as well as emergency services," St. Agnes vice president of operations William Greskovich tells GlobeSt.com. "We're doing 80,000 emergency visits a year. Our emergency care services were built to accommodate 60,000. It is important to be able to demonstrate commitment to the community which we have served for 142 years. This step should position us well for the next 50 years."
