A spokesman for the Proctor & Gamble Co. subsidiary confirmed to GlobeSt.com that the company selected Cubellis from four architectural firms after a request for proposals was issued this fall. The spokesperson adds that while there is no plan yet in place to reduce Gillette's space, the company hired the local architects to determine its proper use.
One of the options available to the company, the spokesperson confirms, is to renovate and reconfigure space at its South Boston plant, possibly for use by executives now headquartered in the Prudential Center. Gillette's lease on that space expires in 2009 but real estate professionals in Boston have speculated that the company, which employs 1,100 people at the Prudential location, may cut back on its space requirements there by moving some employees to its South Boston facility. P&G officials are expected to make decision on their space needs within the next six months.
