Michael Stern, with Staubach Retail's Dallas office, tells GlobeSt.com that the agreement offered the sporting goods store an opportunity to locate in a mid-sized market far from the competition of larger chains. "It allows the tenant to capitalize on the smaller trade areas and customers in the surrounding trade area," Stern says about the 1400 W. Moore St. location. "It enables them to position themselves as the only game in town outside the metro market."

The lease, which gives Hibbett's three five-year options to renew, puts the sporting goods store among larger retail players, including JCPenney and Bealls Department Store, which are also located in the 175,000-sf plaza. Stern handled the transaction for Hibbett while the property owner, ORDA Corp., had principal David Solomon in charge of negotiating its terms.
