"The repositioning of Colonie Center into a class A mall requires that we generate feelings of luxury and excitement to draw in the upscale, affluent shoppers in the New York capital region," says Larry Feldman, chairman and CEO of Feldman Mall Properties. Feldman is currently engaged in a $50-million redevelopment of the center. Much of the major construction associated with the redevelopment effort should be complete by the late summer of 2006.

A spokesman for Feldman Properties says that P.F. Chang's China Bistro hopes to open in late 2006 or early 2007. Feldman has previously stated that it is very close to signing leases totaling more than 60,000 sf with two national retailers. Other major tenants include Macy's, Sears, Boscov's, Christmas Tree, FYE, Steve & Barry's, Victoria's Secret, American Eagle and Bath & Body Works.
