The planned project, 40 miles northeast of Downtown Atlanta, may take about five years before construction begins, area brokers familiar with the venture tell GlobeSt.com. That's largely because the design of a project of this size has to first be approved by the US Army Corps of Engineers which is responsible for overseeing Lake Lanier area developments, local brokers tell GlobeSt.com.
Although the preliminary plans didn't specify the amount of space planned for each component, area brokers and construction sources aware of the project tell GlobeSt.com the estimated hard construction cost will be at least $100 million.
