HOUSTON-Two-decade real estate veteran Cyndee Smith has joined NewQuest Properties in the position of senior vice president of retail leasing, where she will direct and generate retail leasing activities for the Houston area full-service real estate company.Prior to joining NewQuest, Smith served as vice president-retail with Shelby/Estus for more than 10 years. Her real estate career began in 1982 with Henry S. Miller Co., and she joined Wulf & Co. three years later.Throughout her career, Smith's focus has been on retail leasing and sales. In addition to representing landlords and owners on prime real estate deals, Smith has represented major retailers such as Wells Fargo, Barnes & Noble, Bombay Company, Dress Barn, World Savings, Chuy's Restaurant, Carter's and Casa Olé.Smith is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and past president of Commercial Real Estate Women/Houston (CREW)."Cyndee is one of Houston's premier commercial real estate brokers," said NewQuest president and CEO Rene Joubert in a released statement concerning the hire.
