NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA-Joseph P. Coyle has resigned as president of College Park Communities, the student housing division of locally based GMH Communities Trust, "to pursue other personal and professional interests," according to a GMH statement. He will continue to serve as a consultant.

Miles W. Orth III, who has been responsible for College Park's operations since October 2004, was promoted to EVP and will continue to manage the division's day-to-day operations. Orth has been with the division for the past eight years.

In a statement, Gary M. Holloway, president, chairman and CEO of GMH, says he was pleased that Coyle would continue to serve as a consultant. "We wish him much success in his future endeavors." He also praised Orth's "integral role in the development and operations of our student housing division."

Coyle, in the same statement, thanked "the tremendous team of employees at GMH," and said, "I look forward to beginning the next phase of my life and career." Calls to Coyle and Holloway were not returned by deadline.
