LEOMINSTER, MA-A Boston developer has purchased the headquarters of a beer distributing firm for approximately $1.91 million. The 33,000-sf building and two-acre property will be revamped for retail use.
David L Murphy, with Boston-based Hamilton Partners, tells GlobeSt.com that the single-story property, located in Leominster's Searstown Mall, already has drawn the interest of several potential users, including restaurants and retail outlets. "We're talking to several tenants for either a land lease or build to suit."
The 89 Commercial Rd. building is currently occupied by A&E Distributors, which holds a one-year lease on the property. The firm recently spent $560,000 to purchase land on Chocksett Road in Sterling and plans to spend $3.5 million to construct its new headquarters on that property. Murphy says he plans to redevelop the site early next year once A&E vacates the building.
