SHREWSBURY, MA-A buyer with a penchant for Shakespeare put down $3.9 million to take ownership of an 80,000-sf, mixed-use facility. The deal gave the buyer a vacant building with a recently renovated interior.

Taming of the Shrewsbury LLC, a subsidiary of Boston-based Vinco Properties Inc., beat out several other contenders for the 800 Boston Turnpike building, Paul Leone, with Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, tells GlobeSt.com. He says its location adjacent to Route 9 and upgrades made by seller TranXenoGen Corp. were key factors in the sale. "The visibility, location and improvements drove it."

The building, which includes a mix of office, research, laboratory and warehouse and manufacturing space, will be either leased or re-sold by the new owner, he notes.Leone handled the transaction for the seller along with Brian McKenzie, and John Lashar, also with Richards Barry Joyce & Partners. The brokerage team also procured the buyer.
