The manufacturer of corrective lenses inked a long-term lease, with expansion rights, for a 102,000-sf warehouse at 13995 Diplomat Rd, in a 30-day round of bargaining for the consolidation site, Jean Russo, senior director for Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc., tells GlobeSt.com. Essilor's nearby six-building campus, bought last summer to expand its US headquarters, doesn't include warehouse space, she adds.
According to Russo, Essilor is the only tenant in the Diplomat Road structure. Randy Hay of Hay & Jones represented the local building owner, Diplomat-Delegate Partners Ltd., which has the space on the market for $5.95 per sf, triple net. Russo teamed with C&W's Jordan Brown to bargain the expansion deal for Essilor, which occupies about 250,000 sf in the city.
Russo says Essilor, now headquartered at 13515 N. Stemmons Freeway, is still fine-tuning the renovation plan for its campus along Branch View Road. The tentative plan calls for construction of a 75,000-sf, three-story office building and combining two other structures for a research and development lab.
