SIMI VALLEY, CA-Ronco Corp., the company made famous by TV pitchman Ron Popeil, has signed a 10-year, $6.5-million lease for 81,646 sf of industrial space in an expansion and relocation from Chatsworth. Ronco expects to move into its new facility at 61-69 W. Moreland Rd. early this year, according to Scott Caswell of Van Nuys-based Delphi Business Properties.
The building will be the new headquarters for Ronco, notes Caswell, who represented both Ronco and the private investor who owns the industrial property. Ronco expects to employ more than 150 workers at the site, which will double its plant capacity.
Richard Allen, president and CEO of Ronco, says the relocation from the San Fernando Valley to Simi Valley is designed to accommodate recent and anticipated future growth of the company. Ronco, which primarily sells houseware products, includes both Ronco Corp. and Castle Advertising.
Ronco's new headquarters is a concrete tilt-up building featuring 28,510 sf of office space, dock high and ground level loading, 22-foot minimum warehouse clearance, and on-site parking for 160 cars.
