The 16-story hotel, on Ocean Boulevard in downtown Long Beach, represents the first in "a broad strategic acquisition and investment program with Starwood," according to Noble. The Westin, across the street from the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, is an upper-upscale property featuring amenities including a lobby bar, the Grille Restaurant and an outdoor heated swimming pool.
Mit Shah, Noble's president and CEO, notes that over the past 12 months the company has acquired or begun construction on more than $400 million in lodging assets. He says the Westin Long Beach, the company's first West Coast asset, is in superior condition after undergoing more than $8 million in renovations during the past year.
