DBN has named Bob Bunyan, a 35-year industry veteran whose career includes 26 years with the Mission Viejo Co.,. to head the new division. DBN Environmental will acquire the contaminated properties on an "as-is" basis and will work with governmental agencies to remediate the land. Before selling the land, the firm may also secure entitlements for it.
Delson says DBN has decided to specialize in the contaminated parcels because, although they have development potential, they are often difficult for their owners to sell or to develop because of the liabilities presented by the contamination. DBN develops office, retail and multifamily projects throughout Southern California, including projects that are under way in the Inland Empire City of San Jacinto and in Santa Barbara.
