The state is looking for a five-year lease on the space with the option to terminate after three years if construction at the Thorndike Street courthouse is completed. The court's temporary location would also need to be renovated, the state said.
State officials said they will also consider proposals for separate court locations but prefer to house both courts in the same building in either Cambridge or Somerville. The state will request proposals for the space this week.
