The Atlanta Regional Commission and the Georgia Regional Transportation Agency separately endorsed the enterprise. However, the county's planning commission vetoed the project because of its size. Cobb County commissioners will review the proposed project for the first time on Feb. 21.

Between now and then, the West Palm Beach, FL-based developer plans to reduce the size of the project, area sources familiar with the project and the developer's plans tell GlobeSt.com. At issue mainly is the project's density. West Cobb density shows a maximum two homes per acre in the area. Goodman's project would have at least 12 homes per acre, according to the developer's preliminary plans.
