NEWPORT BEACH, CA-Multifamily development specialist Wood Partners has opened an office here and has named Frank Middleton to lead it. The company says it has made a long-term commitment to the Southern California market, where it is looking for development sites and for other developers with whom it hopes to establish development partnerships.
Wood Partners has been involved in the development of more than 25,000 units with a combined value of $2.75 billionin the Southeast, Washington DC, Texas, Coloradoand Arizona. Middleton will be assembling the Wood Partners team in Southern California and will be responsible for oversight of development and finance of the company's projects in the region.
Middleton joins Wood Partners from the energy industry, where he served in various roles in developing energy plants, including the raising of more than $600 million of preferred equity. He led several initiatives for developing large power plants, which included extensive entitlement work on projects in California.
