Pernod Ricard Leases 84,000 SF in Purchase

Pernod Ricard will relocate its corporate headquarters from 777 Westchester Ave., where it currently occupies approximately 66,000 sf, to the Purchase property owned by SEB Immobilien-Investment GmbH. The wine and spirits producer/distributor will also relocate its recently formed Malibu-Kahlua International Co. division, currently housed in space at 355 Riverside Ave. in Westport, CT, to the 777 Westchester Ave. building owned by Reckson Associates Realty Corp.

The moves were predicated by Pernod Ricard's recent acquisition of Allied Domecq, which was completed in July 2005. The offices at 335 Riverside Ave. were formerly occupied by Allied Domecq. The corporate headquarters relocation from 777 Westchester Ave. to the 100 Manhattanville Rd. property, as well as the move of operations from Westport to White Plains, will begin in July, company officials say.

The owner of 100 Manhattanville was represented by William Korchak, executive vice president, and Barbara Winter, senior vice president, of Jones Lang LaSalle in Manhattan. John Isaacs of CB Richard Ellis, formerly of Cushman & Wakefield, and Greg Frisoli of Cushman & Wakefield, represented Pernod Ricard.

In a statement released this morning, Michel Bord, chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard Americas, states that the offices moves are being made "to meet the interests of the majority of our employees." The move of the Malibu-Kahlua International subsidiary to within five minutes of the firm's corporate headquarters will "foster a close partnership" between the two units, he notes.

Bord adds that the New York State's Empire State Development Corp. is providing some unspecified incentives to keep the company's jobs in Westchester County. An official with the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency tells GlobeSt.com that Pernod Ricard will also receive approximately $420,000 in incentives based on the planned capital improvements it will make at its leased properties in Westchester County.
