CBE Technologies, a Boston-based provider of managed IT services, acquired the property from locally based the Davis Cos. "There were a number of other interested people but these guys made their move immediately," Bob Fitzgerald, with NAI Hunneman in Boston, tells GlobeSt.com. "They wanted the building," The 10 City Square property had been marketed for just 30 days.
The building, a prominent feature in Charlestown's City Square,is located just a short walk from the USS Constitution, CharlestownNavy Yard and the Boston Harborwalk. It was designated a Boston landmark because of its historic and architectural features but is perhaps best known for being home to Olives. The restaurant, along with other retailers in the 4,000-sf space, are expected to stay on as tenants.
CBE Technologies will move into the property's upstairs office space once renovation work is completed in a few months, Fitzgerald says. "It has great views of the water, City Square Park and spectacular views of the Zakim Bridge. It's just a great user building." Fitzgerald said nearby parking and the property's history were what really helped seal the deal. Fitzgerald, along with Steve James, also with NAI Hunnemann, handled the sale for Davis and also procured the buyer.
