Cobb County commissioners voted 5 to 0 for the planned project, marketers and brokers who attended the public meeting tell GlobeSt.com. Residents had argued the project was in a land-use area that does not allow the development of residential units. But commissioners placed the project in the urban village commercial zoning category which allows rentals.

The so-far unnamed project is slated to include 400 condominium homes, 213 rental apartments and about 20,000 sf of combined retail and office space in the city's Vinings residential sector.
