FRISCO, TX-A Dallas developer is ready to go vertical on a 10,000-sf building for a specialty retailer to usher in its first location in the North Texas suburb.
David's Bridal, eyeing a late spring opening, signed a long-term lease with developer, Scott Remphrey of the Brytar Cos., who is under construction on a pad site at the corner of Texas 121 and Preston Road. The Stonebriar Centre Mall proximity was a key decisionmaker for sealing the deal, says the tenant rep, Andrew Scroggie, vice president with Dallas-based Weitzman Group, tells GlobeSt.com. The going rate for retail space in the suburb, specifically mall periphery, is running $20 per sf to $35 per sf.
Scroggie tells GlobeSt.com that David's Bridal is looking to expand its North Texas footprint. Searches are under way in Abilene, Wichita Falls and elsewhere in the Rio Grande for 5,000 sf to 10,000 sf in freestanding or inline locations. At last count, the Conshohocken, PA-based David's Bridal operated 260 stores nationwide.
