Officials from News Corp. could not be reached for comment, but representative with the city tells GlobeSt.com the deal was completed Monday. A spokeswoman for the Boston Redevelopment Authority tells GlobeSt.com that officials from News Corp. have agreed to consider a master plan for the property but have not yet indicated what plans they have for the site. She adds that the city already has a master plan for the area which could speed up development.

Earlier this month, the city's Zoning Board of Appeals denied McCourt's request to defer action on a parking permit for a 1,000-space parking lot along Congress Street.
