Potential mayoral candidate city councilman Michael Nutter and Temple University economist William Dunkelberg kick off the day following a welcome by Jonathan A. Schein, president and CEO of Real Estate Media. The event is produced by Real Estate Media, publisher of Real Estate Forum, GlobeSt.com, and other print and web-based publications. Nutter, a leading advocate for tax reform, will offer his views of what it takes to make the city more appealing for commercial real estate developers and investors. Dunkelberg promises to entertain and inform with fresh insights on the national and local economies and what they will mean for real estate.
Michael O'Neill, chairman and CEO of Preferred Real Estate Investments Inc., is this year's subject of "Inside the Real Estate Mind," a feature led by Michael G. Desiato, editor-in-chief of Real Estate Forum. This represents a rare opportunity to discover how siblings' minds work, since O'Neill's brother, Brian, head of O'Neill Properties, sat in the same chair a year ago.
"Philadelphia Undercover"--new to this year's agenda--brings important players that often operate under the radar screen to the fore. In addition to previewing their plans, attendees can pinpoint potential opportunities with this group that is helping shape development in the city and surrounding suburbs. In another session, corporate end-users host a no-holds-barred discussion of what they like and dislike about Philadelphia.
"We expect to match or surpass last year's record-breaking attendance," says Richard Kelley, conference series director. Attendance at RealShare Philadelphia in 2005 exceeded 650 and included the real estate industry's most influential players in all market segments.
