The CREW Foundation program is sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. KeyBank, Starbucks Coffee Co., Guggenheim Capital LLC, McCarthy Building Cos., NAIOP and CREW Miami and Perkins Coie LLP. The program will run through April.
In Dallas, Girls Inc. has selected about 30 students to participate in program, which will run about five weeks in its office at 2040 Empire Central. The girls will work side by side with CREW architects, brokers and property managers on a model ground-up development of a garden-style multifamily complex.
"Cushman & Wakefield knows first hand the importance women and minorities add to the foundation of our values and to the expectations of our clients," says Elizabeth Trocchio, C&W's executive managing director in Dallas and one of the program's founding members. "It is up to the women in our firm today to clear a path for the women of tomorrow. CREW Careers gives us that opportunity--the opportunity to give back, the opportunity to make a difference in the future of young women and in the future of our industry."
The careers program was launched in Dallas two years ago and became a nationwide initiative last year. This year's Dallas chairwoman is Debra Morgan with JER Partners Inc.
