Azuvi Tile Co. plans to use the 1641 Wallace Rd. location as its North American headquarters, Steve Wolff, senior associate in Dallas for Grubb & Ellis Co., tells GlobeSt.com. The local broker says the tile company's executive team put Dallas/Fort Worth at the top of the search list because it's equidistant to both coasts and a straight shot to the Port of Houston. The tile importer has been working out of space along Luna Road in North Dallas. "That was just a temporary fix for them," Wolff explains.
Azuvi's only Texas distribution center is being integrated into a 108,000-sf office/warehouse owned by Des Moines-based Principal Financial Group, which has Kacy Jones with Holt Lunsford Commercial as its representative for the space. The sweet spot of Azuvi's just-signed deal is "all TIs are included," according to Wolff. The building, completed about a year ago, carries a $5.50 per sf door-opening quote.
