FONTANA, CA-LNR Property Corp. and the Lewis Group of Cos. have completed the first two distribution facilities at their 198-acre Sierra Business Park. The buildings, each of which comprises 1.1 million sf, were constructed by Oltmans Construction of Whittier, general contractor for the project.Oltmans has also started work on a third building of 750,000 sf at the development site, which is just south of the 10 Freeway off the Sierra Avenue exit. The development is bordered by Slover Avenue on the north, Sierra on the west, Santa Avenue on the south and Tamarind on the east.The 750,000-sf building is expected to be completed in August, according to Craig Rohrer, project manager for Oltmans. The project also involves extensive infrastructure work, which Oltmans also is completing. The infrastructure work includes the addition of two new streets, called Production Street and Technology Street, to improve access to the park.According to VP Jim Cottrell of LNR, the two completed buildings feature concrete tilt-up construction, 32-foot-minimum interior clearance, and 220-dock-high loading positions. The 750,000-sf building will be a concrete tilt-up distribution facility that will feature 112-dock-high loading positions and 30-foot-minimum interior clearance.Cottrell says that the developers plan to sell the completed buildings to institutional investors. The project is being designed by GAA Architects of Irvine.LNR Property Corp.'s Commercial Property Group is headquartered in Newport Beach. The Lewis Group of Cos., based in Upland, is one of the Inland Empire's largest builders of master-planned communities, including retail, office, industrial and multifamily projects.
