TUCSON-A local franchisee is bringing a new sign shop to the area, with help from a five-year, 3,219-sf lease for the 35,000 sf mixed-use Central Business Plaza.

The new business, Signs Now, will be at 3955 E. Speedway Blvd. The deal represents the Sarasota, FL-based firm's entry into the Phoenix metro market. Signs Now, a division of Allegra Network LLC, produces retail and wholesale products, banners, commercial signs and vehicle wraps. All Signs Now outlets are franchises.

Nancy McClure, first vice president for CB Richard Ellis Tucson LLC says that Tucson resident David Popke has the area rights to the concept and plans to open two or three other locations in the area. "The other outlets will be smaller," adds McClure, who represented Popke. The local property owner, Anthem Equity, had an in-house broker work out the terms.

McClure tells GlobeSt.com that Anthem Equity will deliver the space, currently in shell condition, in late April or early May. "He'll open the shop 30 days later," she adds. The Central Business Plaza retail space carries a $12.50 per sf quote.
