Thomas Menino's bid

The revisions came after residents of the area criticized the waterfront development for failing to take into account neighborhood concerns. The changes to the project, which will be built on about 100 acres in a former shopping and warehouse district near Summer Street and West Broadway, still have to be accepted by the property owners, who will lose about 5% of the 6.2 million sf they planned to develop. The state must also accept the changes.

The parcel, which sits between the channel and the Boston Convention Center, is owned separately by a variety of entities, including Proctor & Gamble Co., which owns about half, the US Postal Service, Beacon Capital Partners LLC and a partnership between the Archon Group and Goldman Properties.
