Patrick Colwell, senior director of Cushman & Wakefield's Capital Markets Group, and Sean McDonnell, director, Cushman & Wakefield Brokerage Services, represented the seller. James Randel and DJ Smith of Rand Realty of Westport represented Lights, Camera, Interaction.
The firm, which makes the "Melissa & Doug" brand of children's toys, will be relocating from Norwalk to the Wilton property sometime this spring, Cushman officials say. The company will use the site as its corporate headquarters.
"This was an excellent opportunity for a progressive company like Lights, Camera, Interaction to acquire a centrally located Fairfield County office property with easy access to a large and highly qualified labor pool," Colwell says. He adds that the building was marketed to a select number of local and regional investors and users. The property, built in 1963, at one time housed operations of US Surgical and Priceline.com.
