The city also plans to sell a historic building at 26 Court St., which currently serves as the Boston School Department's headquarters, according to an official with the mayor's office. The 90-year-old granite property could bring in more than $30 million.

A city-owned office building that served as a backdrop for the 1980s detective television series "Spencer for Hire" may be put on the market as well. A recent city appraisal of the structure, which covers almost an entire city block, listed the North Street property's value at between $15 and $25 million, according to city records.

The 65,000-sf, three-story Georgian Revival structure, which sits on the edge of the planned Rose Kennedy Greenway in the North End, currently houses the city's Printing Department, the Boston Finance Commission and the city's Employee Assistance Program. Verizon also occupies space in the basement along with archaeologists employed by the Big Dig.
