Sony has occupied the building since 1991, when it acquired Columbia Pictures and TriStar Pictures. It will continue to house the corporate audit, accounting and worldwide fulfillment units for those divisions in the four-story building at Venice Boulevard and Clarington Avenue, one block from Sony Pictures Studios.
The building has been 100% occupied since being developed in 1986 by Gary Peterson of Westlake Village-based Opal Capital Partners and designed by Nadel Architects. Previous tenants include MGM/UA Entertainment Company and Turner Entertainment.
Opal Capital was represented by Peterson, with Sony represented in-house. Opal, which manages the building, also provides third-party asset, property and facilities management.
