Cooler Manufacturer Triples Plant Capacity

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA-Commercial Cooling Par Engineering Inc. has purchased a 60,000-sf manufacturing facility for $6.35 million, one of two recently closed industrial deals here and in Rancho Dominguez. Jason Jamison of Whittier-based GM Properties, who represented Commercial Cooling, reports that Commercial Cooling, a maker of walk-in coolers and freezers, will be tripling its capacity in a relocation to the City of Industry plant from Anaheim.

Commercial Cooling expects to move into the new facility in June, according to Jamison. The facility, which will be the buyer's new headquarters, is situated on approximately 3.5 acres of land at 17855 Arenth Ave.

The seller of the 60,000-sf building, Arenth Avenue Associates, was represented by Dan de la Paz, Walt Chenoweth, and Frank Geraci of CB Richard Ellis. Commercial Cooling also will bring new machinery to the new plant, according to John Milani, owner and president of the manufacturing company.

In the other industrial deal, principals of Standard Wire & Cable paid $4.3 million for a former Noritake facilityfor a relocation within Rancho Dominguez, according to the Klabin Co. Standard Wire and Cable has scheduled an October occupancy of what will become its new headquarters on approximately two acres of land at 2050 E. Vista Bella Way.

David Grote in the Torrance office of the Klabin Co. represented Noritake Co., with buyers represented by Gary Blau and Bob McIntyre of the Goodglick Co. Standard Wire now occupies a leased facility at 1959 Casdan St.

The new headquarters for Standard Wire & Cable Co. is a concrete tilt-up structure featuring eight dock high loading doors, 20 feet of minimum interior clearance, and on-site parking for 75 cars. The buyers plan to gut all existing office space to create 6,000 sf to 7,000 square feet of new offices and additional window areas.
