Kious, who spent six years with Disney, will collaborate with national and regional corporate services leadership to pursue new corporate outsourcing business, according to Robert Ruth, area president and senior managing director at Trammell Crow. Kious, who has been named to a number of listings of top real estate executives, will bring what Ruth calls "market knowledge on the local, national and international level" in her new position.
Before her tenure with Disney, Kious worked in a number of high-level real estate roles, including serving as senior managing director of global account management for CB Richard Ellis; SVP for Koll Corporate Services and SVP for corporate property for First Interstate Bank. Her experience also includes eight years as a commissioned commercial and investment real estate broker for Heitman Properties and Merrill Lynch.
At Macerich, Gillett will oversee operations for 12 regional malls and open-air centers in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. He has more than 25 years of retail and shopping center management experience and comes to Macerich from the Mills Corp., where he was VP and manager for the Western Region.
In his post at the Mills Corp., Gillett was responsible for property management for more than 11 million sf of retail and entertainment centers. Before that, he spent 16 years with Trizec R&E, rising from specialty leasing and property management positions before being named VP of operations.
The former Macerich VP of property management for Southern California, Chris Facas, has relocated to the company's Broadway Plaza office in Walnut Creek. He joined Macerich in 2000 and had held the VP post since 2004.
