The developer, manufacturer and marketer of products for the aerospace, automotive and manufacturing industries searched the Cambridge and inner suburban market for comparable space but opted to remain in its current space to avoid disruption to its operations, Tucker Hansen, with Meredith & Grew's Boston office, tells GlobeSt.com. "The functionality of the building worked well for their business." Hansen, along with Joseph Flaherty, also with Meredith & Grew, represented the tenant. Cumming Properties, which owns the building, was self-represented by Chris Auth.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but Hansen says R&D space in the 211,000-sf Medford property leases in the low $20-per-sf price range. Midé y will share space in the building, which is 95% occupied, with Tufts University, Parlance Corp. and a number of smaller businesses.
