ONTARIO, CA-Fresh Start Bakeries has signed a 20-year, $23 million lease for 180,000 sf at Master Development Corp.'s two-million-sf Thoroughbred Business Park. The bakery will occupy space that formerly housed a Hewlett-Packard facility.
The lease represents a relocations and expansion for the commercial dairy, notes Karen Hickey, VP of operations for Master Development Corp., who oversees the management and leasing of Thoroughbred Business Park. She adds that the building was leased to Fresh Start before Hewlett-Packard moved out. Fresh Start is relocating from an 80,000-sf facility in the City of Industry.
Thoroughbred Business Park, which consists of 11 dock-high industrial buildings, is a joint venture between Master Development, the landowner, The Johnson Trust and a large Midwestern pension trust. The development is on Baker Avenue, bordered by Mission Avenue and East Francis Street.
Michael Chavez of the Ontario office of Lee & Associates represented the landlord, with the tenants represented by Michael Brent and Anthony Brent of the City of Industry office of Lee & Associates. Fresh Start is an international supplier of bakery and food products to the McDonalds system and the food industry.
