The new 174-room hotel and fitness resort, at 50 Enterprise Dr. at Aliso Parkway, is scheduled to be completed in December 2007. Among its features will be approximately 3,000 sf of meeting and event space, dining and a full-service day spa, free access to the sports and fitness complex for hotel guests, courts for basketball and a variety of other sports, group exercise classes, three outdoor swimming pools, locker rooms with saunas and spas and a child care center for children as young as six months.

The Renaissance ClubSport is an essential element of the live-work environment envisioned at the Summit Campus, says Russ Parker, vice chairman of locally based Parker Properties. Robert Olson, CEO and president of R.D. Olson, says the hotel and fitness concept represents a new industry trend, which is illustrated by the deal between Marriott and Leisure Sports. R.D. Olson Construction, owned by Robert Olson, is the general contractor for the project.

The success of its first ClubSport prompted Marriott International to add the Renaissance ClubSport as a brand extension to its existing portfolio of Renaissance Hotels & Resorts. It signed an agreement last year with Leisure Sports to develop an additional 15 facilities over the next five to seven years.
