BOXBOROUGH, MA-A firm that provides network security will merge two of its facilities into 50,960 sf of office, lab and production space. In August, Crossbeam Systems Inc will relocate its US headquarters to 80 Central St.

Crossbeam will merge its 27,000-sf facility at 200 Baker Ave. in Concord with its 7,000-sf manufacturing operation at 45 Discovery Way in Acton. The firm will move into the first and second floors of the 149,528-sf, three-story building under a seven-year lease, David Ross with Cresa Partners Boston tells GlobeSt.com.

The relocation, which gives the firm more than 16,000 sf of additional space, was necessary, Ross says, because of the company's growth. "They liked the fact that it was a newer building and they could keep employees in the same general area to where they are now located."

Terms of the lease were not disclosed but Ross says similar space in the area rents for between $16 and $18 per sf gross. Ross and colleague Bill Goade represented Crossbeam Systems. Brian McKenzie of Richards Barry Joyce & Partners' Boston office repped the owner, Kennedy Associates.
