Fan Pier

Hill Glazier was selected to design a five-star hotel and residential tower while Brennan Beer Gorman will design a 500,000-sf office building. Elkus Manfredi, which was selected in December to design the ground-level layout and streetscape of a nine-block area along a harbor marina, was also picked to design a 500,000-sf office building on the site with 300,000 sf of retail space.

"We've selected some of the most respected architects in the country to work with us to make Fan Pier a world-class project for Boston," says Joseph Fallon, owner of the Fallon Co. "This represents about $1 billion worth of development now under design. Things are really starting to happen on Fan Pier. The fact that there's been so much interest from these architectural firms is a testament to the strength of the commercial and residential real estate markets in Boston."

Fallon plans to build nearly three million sf of commercial and residential buildings on the 20.5-acre site. Included in those plans are a waterfront walkway, public parks and several cultural, civic and other amenities. The project's first phase, which will be comprised of a 22-story, 175-unit residential building and a 26-story, 500,000-sf office tower, is set to begin construction later next year.
