Jeffrey Becker, senior vice president with NAI Hunneman Commercial in Boston, tells GlobeSt.com that the company, a member of the Omaha, NE-based Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies, was on the verge of signing a lease in Boston. "We were at the 11th hour of doing a deal in downtown Boston but it was just too good an economic decision to stay." Becker handled the transaction for the tenant.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but Becker says office space in the Central Square area generally leases in the $25 to $35 per sf price range. The company, which has been a tenant in the building for the past four and a half years, occupies the second floor in the eight-story property. The building is comprised of a mix of first floor office and six floors of residential units.
