FREMONT, CA-Bunzl Distribution has leased 100,600 sf within Pacific Industrial Center, a two-building park here that is owned by Denver-based ProLogis Trust. The 64-month lease is for a portion of one building. The lease is valued at $3.2 million, or just under $0.50 per sf.

Bunzl Distribution is a St. Louis-based supplier of disposable paper and plastic packaging supplies. Customers include food processors, restaurants, supermarket retailers, self-distributing chains and wholesalers. The company is expected to relocate from its current 60,000-sf warehouse in Union City to Pacific Industrial Center in September. Greig Lagomarsino of Colliers International brokered the deal.

"Bunzl Distribution undertook a larger search toward the Livermore area and up and down the I-880 corridor," says Lagomarsino. "In the past, a Union City-based company looking for expansion options would stay in Union City. But with the market continuing to tighten, tenants are expanding farther south because there are more options."

Lagomarsino adds that Bunzl Distribution chose the Pacific Industrial Center because of its features, including an upgraded sprinkler system and 30-foot interior ceiling clearance. The building address is 40999 Boyce Rd.

Colliers International has about 240 offices in 54 countries. Each Colliers office is privately owned. Colliers International Partnership, headquartered in San Jose, CA, has 12 offices in California and Nevada.
