TEQUESTA, FL-Construction has begun on the Preserve at Tequesta, a 59-unit town home complex at 223 Village Blvd.

The project is being developed by Coral Gables-based Cornerstone Group's Town Home Division. Architects on the project are Boca Raton-based Quincy Johnson, Jones, Myott, Williams, Acevedo, Vaughn Architects Inc. The project will contain nine buildings and a clubhouse on four acres. Units will have two or three stories and a private, single-car garage and range in size from 1,861 to 2,112 sf. Prices for the units start from $449,990.

John Barr, president of Cornerstone Town Home Division, tells GlobeSt.com that the project is expected to be completed within a year. "We had a soft opening back in April but are planning a more aggressive marketing campaign once we're further along with the project," Barr says. "We've taken a few contracts for units but those were just from people waiting for the project to start."

Unit features will include wall-to-wall carpeting; ceramic tile floors in foyers; nine-ft ceilings and pre-wiring for high-speed Internet. Complex amenities will feature steel reinforced concrete construction with shutters, covered entryway and brick paved driveways. The clubhouse will have a swimming pool and heated spa.

Cornerstone broke ground earlier this year for Preserve at Boynton Beach, a 180-unit gated residential complex on 10 acres at 1801 NE Fourth St. just south of Gateway Boulevard in Boynton Beach. "The Preserve at Tequesta is a more upscale project due to its location," Barr says.
