PORT ST. LUCIE, FL-Fort Lauderdale-based Stiles Corp. has started construction on the 94,000-sf Shoppes at Veranda Falls at the southeast quadrant of Becker Road and the Florida Turnpike. The center will be anchored by a 45,000-sf Publix supermarket.
Stiles, which is working in cooperation with the Huizenga Family, will provide the design, development, construction and leasing for the center. In addition to the supermarket, the Shoppes at Veranda Falls will include 48,000 sf of in-line retail space, including space for three restaurants. Two outparcels are available for future development. Occupancy is slated for the second quarter of 2007. Nancy Brusher, with Stiles, tells GlobeSt.com that leasing efforts have started and negotiations are ongoing for several tenants.
The shopping center will serve the surrounding upscale neighborhoods of Harbor Ridge, Martin Downs, the Evergreen Club and Tesoro, a 1,000-unit development adjacent to the center. "The location has good access from the Florida Turnpike and will cater to surrounding residential neighborhoods. The area has limited retail services available currently," Brusher says.
Other Stiles retail projects include Becker Commons in Port St. Lucie, Arbor Square at Connerton in Pasco County and Sawgrass Gateway Center in Sunrise.
