Peter Brown, director of leasing for Campanelli Cos. of Braintree, tells GlobeSt.com that they selected the site because the building's location near Route 3 and the South Shore Hospital. Brown says he is currently negotiating with several other medical groups and expects to have the remaining 60% of medical office space fully leased by the building's completion date in the spring of 2007.
Terms of the lease were not disclosed but Brown said the remaining space will lease in the mid-$20 triple net range. "They have set a very high-quality tone for the balance of the leasing effort," says Brown.
The three-story, 68,000-sf professional and clinical medical center is currently under construction on an eight-acre parcel on Performance Drive off Libbey Industrial Parkway. The building, which will be the first medical office center of its kind on the South Shore, will allow patients to access all non-surgical services necessary to treat cancer at one local facility once it is completed in the spring of 2007.
The $20-million center, which broke ground earlier this month, will bring together HealthOne, a growing doctors' network comprised of Harvard Vanguard and four other groups with Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology, a 34-year-old specialty practice that provides chemotherapy, radiation therapy and other cancer treatment services. Brown handled the leasing duties for the building's owner, Libbey Park II LLC, while Dan Cordeau and Katie Krein, both with Spaulding & Slye, a member of the Jones Lang LaSalle group's Boston office, represented the tenant.
