BRIDGEWATER, NJ-Loehmann's has inked a lease for 22,183 sf at the Somerset Shopping Center here, according to Matthew Harding, president and COO of the North Plainfield-based Levin Management Corp. Levin is the property's exclusive leasing and managing agent. Loehmann's will move into a tenant slot vacated just this past March when Office Max closed its store.

"We began talking with Loehmann's as soon as we learned that the space would be available," says Levin's Ethan Goldsmith, who negotiated the lease. "The quick closing, less than three months after Office Max closed its store, is testimony to the appeal of both the market area and the center."

The off-price specialty retailer will join an anchor roster at the 214,000-sf shopping center that includes Barnes & Noble, Gap, Linens 'n Things, Pier 1 Imports and Eastern Mountain Sports. Other tenants include Lane Bryant, Mikasa, Dress Barn and TGI Friday's, among others.

Loehmann's was represented by Kurt Schneider, SVP in the Blue Bell, PA office of Katz & Associates Corp. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
