Group Health completed a purchase–option agreement this month for the new location. The new medical center is set to open in 2008 and will replace Group Health's 32year-old Eastside Primary Care Center on 152nd Avenue NE.
The medical center will be housed in a five-story, multi-tenant building with Group Health occupying 31,000 sf on the first two floors. Group Health will likely lease the excess space just as it does with medical centers in Downtown Seattle, Puyallup and Kent.
The building is planned as one of four anchors of a complex that include retail stores, a hotel and multifamily housing developed by Legacy Partners. The development will abut Redmond's RiverWalk and Luke McRedmond Landing.
Group Health is also building a 200,000-sf medical center in nearby Bellevue at the corner of 116th Ave. NE and NE 8th St., next to Overlake Hospital. That facility is slated to open in 2008.
