Mack Cali VP of leasing Jeffrey Warner explains that Fujifilm Medical Systems USA had a lease commitment that ran until 2011. The new deal now extends the firm's lease deal for the building until 2016.
Joe Discala of Alliance Partners represented the tenant in the transaction, while Warner represented Mack-Cali, a Cranford, NJ-based REIT in the deal. The 419 West Ave. property is part of the firm's five-building 275,000-sf Stamford Executive Park office/flex complex.
Fujifilm Medical Systems is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and network systems for the healthcare industry. The firm is a wholly owned US subsidiary of Tokyo-based Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., a $25-billion high-technology company. Fuji Photo Film's US headquarters is located in Valhalla, NY.
Mitchell E. Hersh, president and CEO of Mack-Cali, says of the deal, "This lease renewal demonstrates Mack-Cali's success at building long-term relationships with its tenants. We are very pleased that Fujifilm has decided to stay on board with us."
Warner adds that FujiFilm Medical Systems "had a long term remaining on the lease, but wanted to reinvest capital in the building, and wanted some longer-term commitment in order to support some of its expenditures [at the property]."
Fujifilm Medical Systems relocated to the property in 1998 when it leased 70,000 sf. Over the years the firm expanded its operations there and has for the past several years occupied the entire building.
The new lease extension also provides some options to the firm for additional space within Stamford Executive Park, Warner notes.
