Aon will be relocating its Aon Re Global division from One Landmark Square in Stamford and its Aon Risk Management and Aon Consulting divisions from offices at 1700 East Putnam Ave. in Greenwich by this fall.
GE Money, the building's sole tenant, is in the process of relocating its operations to 777 High Ridge Rd. here. Aon is the first tenant signing at the building since the property owner and manager--Benenson Capital Partners--began extensive capital improvements and to convert the property to multi-tenant use. Work will continue through 2007, Benenson officials say. The redevelopment marks the first total makeover of the property since Benenson developed it in 1980.
Fred Smith, executive director, Trip Hoffman, director, and Jodie Dostal, associate director, of Cushman & Wakefield represented Benenson Capital Partners in the transaction. Aon was represented by Paul Jacobs of CB Richard Ellis.
"We are pleased to welcome Aon to 1600 Summer St.," says Lawrence B. Benenson, executive partner of New York City-based Benenson Capital Partners. "With Benenson's exceptional hands-on management and the best building amenities, we are certain that they will be very satisfied here."
"Interest in 1600 Summer St. has increased tremendously now that the interior and exterior renovations are under way," adds Richard A. Kessler, chief operating officer of Benenson Capital Partners. "We expect momentum to continue with the signing of several new leases in the coming months."
