RIVERDALE, NJ-Riverdale Crossing, a 260,000-sf, two-level power center, is slated to open in October. The property is being developed by Garden Commercial Properties, Short Hills, NJ, which broke ground just over a year ago and completed site work early this year.

"The continued growth of residential development in Morris and Passaci counties has created a strong demand for shopping facilities," says Scott Loventhal, director of development for Garden Commercial. "The Route 23 corridor has emerged as a prime destination for national retailers hoping to establish operations there."

And Riverdale Crossing will open 100% leased. That was ensured earlier this year when Borders Books and Music took the last 22,000-sf block of space. Borders' opening in October will mark the chain's 20th unit in the Garden State.
