JERSEY CITY-CB Richard Ellis has picked up the assignment to sell the 55,000-sf distribution center located at 77 Amity St. here. The building is owned by Federated Department Stores, and became surplus property in the wake of Federated's merger with the May Department Stores Co.
The assignment is being handled for Federated by William Waxman, senior vice president, vice president Nick Nitti and senior associate Carrie Brown of CBRE. "We have already experienced a tremendous amount of interest in this property," Waxman says.
The existing building comes with excess land, according to Waxman, whose team is marketing the asset for its proximity to New York City. It's also a cross-dock facility, Waxman says.
